The Publicity Stunts - Episode 11

Paul’s noticed the latest high street fashions have readymade rips and holes and look intentionally distressed, or ‘knackered’, as his generation might say. He finds the idea of buying ripped clothes highly amusing and pokes fun at Gaynor and Pixie Lott, suggesting he’ll have a whip round in the pub so they don’t have to dress like Edwardian ragamuffins. ’Where will it end!!’ he exclaims, stifling a laugh, ‘soon you’ll be walking to the discotheque in clogs or barefoot and maybe McDonalds will introduce bread and dripping on their menu? ‘McDripping’ they’ll call it!!’ he says laughing to himself. ‘Wot’s he going on about, like init?’ questions Pixie. ‘Ignore him’ reassures Gaynor enjoying a rare Paul rant, ‘He doesn’t understand fashion.’ ‘I get that’ replies Pixie, ‘but what’s a discotheque init and why would we walk there like?’
